In Aikido there are a lot of traditional movements that came to us from the samurai era. So one of the rules of the samurai said:"the Right hand should always be near the weapon." This does not mean that the samurai didn't do anything with his right hand, but all actions are assigned the minimum necessary time.
You and your opponent sit face-to-face in the ceremonial position of Seiza.
During a traditional bow, the opponent with a sharp movement throws out a hand forward and tries to snatch out Your short sword.
You have to block the opponent's hand. The right hand diagonally comes into contact with the opponent's wrist. Simultaneously with the unit, slide the body slightly forward and to the left. This will allow you to take a comfortable position for the counterattack.
After you block an attack, you need to instantly move to seize the wrist of the enemy. The left hand performs the capture of the maximum collar and pushes him against the neck of the enemy.
After both hands have firmly taken the grip, turn the body on the right knee and simultaneously with the body turn your hands counterclockwise. Instructors of our school often remind students that it is necessary to turn on the knee in order to make it easier to lay the opponent on the floor.
Once the enemy is on the floor, you do not release the grip on the brush. It is necessary to strengthen the grip with the left hand and perform the brush pressing forward. This will fix the opponent in place.
Teaching this technique, the instructors of the school "Ten-Chi" recommend to pay attention to some aspects of the reception, which will allow you to perform it with maximum efficiency:
-the battle starts from the Seiza position;
- all your movements are short and precise;
-You do not just perform a collar capture, and affect the neck of the enemy;
- when making a throw, the whole body works, not just the hands;
- rotation must be performed counterclockwise.
