the Breath during the execution of Aikido techniques understand how the movement of energy “Ki”, which is a kind of inner strength. “Ki” is the internal energy, which is directly related to the human mind and controlled by his mental efforts. Also in Aikido there are such things as “Koku”, which means breathing and "Hara", translated as the stomach. Without understanding these concepts, Aikido, as a martial art with the philosophy, structure and internal guidelines, becomes a simple set of exercises and physical activities.

 

Now a closer look, what should be the breath during the execution of various kinds of Aikido techniques. A necessary condition for proper breathing, speaking belly breathing, despite the fact that when you inhale and you exhale the chest should be fixed, and the stomach must relax. This kind of breathing helps to relieve stress and concentrates.

 

Consider a sample of one of the breathing practices, for which it is necessary to take a comfortable position. In Aikido, (usually sitting, but you can and lay), you need to close your eyes, relax and start breathing. Practice starts with exhalation, not to be forced “squeeze” of the air. 


Breath is through the nose, with breath slow: imagine that the air passes through the body and fills it. After the inhalation hold the breath for a few seconds, this pause should not cause discomfort (i.e. no need to wait until lack of oxygen), after a brief pause, exhale through your mouth, again without having to work. It is necessary that the air left the body alone, and not forced. When performing this practice, you must concentrate on one point.

 

the Advantage of breathing techniques is that, it is not necessary to do them during workouts, in the gym or on the Mat. Breathing techniques can be practiced anywhere;at work, at lunchtime, in public transport or while walking. Already after a short period of time will be able to increase your level “Ki”, which will lead to a higher level of performance of techniques, exercises, and also will lead to a noticeable improvement in the health and harmonizes mind and body.
